Story

I’ve really enjoyed slowly creating this piece over the last few months. It explores the concepts of feminine beauty and its connection to my culture. I’ve strongly focused on texture and organic shapes which has created both natural and abstract elements within the piece. Waratahs and eucalyptus leaves stand as sources of both nourishment and healing. I’ve included a gathering circle representing the heart of our culture which is community and connection, to both each other and nature. Abstract floral notes can be seen throughout the piece, drawing connection to the striking similarities I see in the gifts both nectar and women bring to their world, this being a delicate yet powerful nourishment. Nectar in our culture was used within warm teas and as a food source, rich in beneficial nutrients and minerals, often given to the young ones for vitality and nourishment.
